Headed up to the Big Bear area over the Memorial Day weekend to find the Big Pine Flat trail.  Going up the mountain from Redlands, you take the 30 to the 330. Once you reach the top you take the 18 towards Big Bear City. I made a left onto Green Valley Lake Rd off of the 18. Across from the Ponderosa Ranch I found this little trail heading off into the forest. Read the rest of this entry »

On Thursday we got the jeep cleaned and detailed. As everyone knows this just means you have to go out and get it dirty again We headed out early on Saturday morning before Mother’s Day to drop off flowers and cards to our relatives which put us in the Inland Empire late in the morning. We decided, since we had some time to burn before our guests for the weekend showed up, that we’d do some exploring on the backside of Palomar Mountain. Read the rest of this entry »
