Headed up to the Big Bear area over the Memorial Day weekend to find the Big Pine Flat trail.  Going up the mountain from Redlands, you take the 30 to the 330. Once you reach the top you take the 18 towards Big Bear City. I made a left onto Green Valley Lake Rd off of the 18. Across from the Ponderosa Ranch I found this little trail heading off into the forest.

If you click on the pictures they will open up a larger images. I included roadmarkers of the marked trails so if you see something interesting you might be able to find it when you go up there. I spent 4 hours traveling around and didn’t even start to cover all the trails up there.

I went part way down the hill shown above but turned around when it started getting a little rough. I didn’t want to find myself at the bottom of hill that I couldn’t climb back, especially since I had even found the original trail I was looking for.

After finding Big Pine Flat trail I headed down the fire road looking for something a little rougher that what we’d done before. Below you’ll some of the places we went. I had no trouble with the blue marked trails with out stock 2004 TJ Wrangler.

Mini Flex :)

Finally found some water. Just enough to get the tires wet :D

Our exploring ended up with us on the North Shore of Big Bear Lake on Rim Of The World Rd.
