After having breakfast in Borrego Springs (and finally finding a fuel station that was open in the desert) we headed out S2 to Font’s Point. The trail to Font’s point is an easy short trail up the wash. Stay in the middle of the wash if your in a standard SUV as the sand can be soft out towards the edges.

These are the dramatic views from the top of Font’s Point. It’s even more amazing when you look back over your shoulder (the picture below) and see how flat and normal the area behind the point is.

Here are some the formations at the base of the point. Wendy spent a lot of time here climbing the ridges and looking for geological formations.

Below is a formation we stopped at near Butte’s Peak. It’s hard to see but there is a large birds nest (hawk?) on the third picture down (located near the crease in the shadows).
