Means Dry Lake
October 26th, 2007 at 11:09 am by admin in AdventuresWe did a weekend trip out to Means Dry Lake / Johnson Valley OHV area. We left Carlsbad around 8 pm and got out there just before 11 pm. After setting up the tent (an experience because it’s all new equipment that we hadn’t set up before) we spent a restless night waiting for sunrise. I was like a kid before Xmas just waiting for the sun to rise so we could start getting ready for our first trip. Wendy because it was her first primitive camping trip and there were a ton of strange noises.

Ocotillo Wells - The Slot / Pumpkin Patch / Palms
October 15th, 2007 at 10:24 am by admin in AdventuresWe planned a full day trip to the Ocotillo Wells area for this Saturday. Our plan was to go from Butte’s Pass across the Cut Across Trail over to the various Palms oasis and then down to the Pumpkin Patch from the Salton Sea side. Absolutely wonderful day to go, with nice calm winds and low 80’s temperatures.
